A traffic stop in Ponce de Leon led to the arrest of a woman on drug charges after K9 Timex alerted to the presence of narcotics.
During the stop, a Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputy was speaking with the vehicle’s occupants when K9 Timex was deployed for a free-air sniff around the vehicle. The K9 gave a positive alert, indicating the presence of illegal substances.
When asked if there were any drugs in the vehicle, passenger Annakah Morris admitted to having a baggie of cocaine on her person. She then removed a small baggie containing a usable amount of cocaine. A subsequent search of the vehicle and her belongings led to the discovery of additional baggies, cut straws, and spoons—items commonly associated with drug use.
Morris was placed under arrest and charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
