On March 2, 2026, a deputy with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Highway 79.
A passenger in the vehicle, later identified as Austin Lee Robbins of Slocomb, Alabama, provided the deputy with a false name. A warrants check revealed Robbins had an active warrant out of Alabama.
K9 Buck was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A search of the area where Robbins had been seated revealed a package containing methamphetamine hidden under the seat cover.
Robbins was taken into custody and charged with giving false information, possession of methamphetamine, and the outstanding warrant.
