On September 16, 2025, a Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputy was patrolling Highway 81 when he observed an oncoming vehicle traveling 90 miles per hour in a posted 55 mph zone. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was identified as Daniel Tingle of Fort Walton Beach.
While speaking with Tingle, the deputy observed several indicators of impairment. Tingle also admitted he did not have a valid driver’s license and was currently out on bond following a DUI arrest in June 2025.
Field sobriety exercises were administered, which Tingle performed unsatisfactorily. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Holmes County Jail, where he provided breath samples of .297 and .292, more than three times the legal limit.
Tingle was charged with:
Driving Under the Influence
Driving While License Suspended
Excessive Speed
