On February 4, 2025, a Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 79, just south of the interstate, for reckless driving.
During the stop, the driver, identified as Joey Tyson, was questioned while K9 Timex performed a free air sniff around the vehicle. K9 Timex alerted to the presence of narcotics, prompting a search of the vehicle. Deputies discovered a backpack containing a meth pipe, a package of methamphetamine, and other drug-related items.
As deputies attempted to take Tyson into custody, she resisted by pulling away. She was eventually secured and taken into custody. Tyson is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest without violence, and reckless driving.
