Holmes County, Florida Sheriff’s Office Arrests Nathan Buxton for Eluding, Resisting, Felony Ammunition, Etc.

Posted on June 4, 2025

On June 4, 2025, the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office was notified that Walton County deputies were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 90. HCSO deputies intercepted the pursuit in the Westville area and assumed control as the vehicle continued eastbound.

The suspect fled through Caryville, where HCSO deputies attempted a Precision Immobilization Technique (P.I.T.) maneuver. Although the suspect temporarily regained control of the vehicle, the pursuit continued.

As the vehicle entered the four-lane section of Highway 90 in Bonifay, a unit from the Bonifay Police Department successfully executed a P.I.T. maneuver, bringing the vehicle to a stop. The driver, identified as Nathan Buxton, was taken into custody without further incident.

The vehicle was confirmed stolen out of Camden, Alabama. Buxton was found to have multiple outstanding warrants in Alabama. He now faces additional charges in Holmes County, including:

Fleeing and Attempting to Elude, Reckless Driving, Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon, Resisting Arrest Without Violence.

We thank the Bonifay Police Department for their assistance in bringing this dangerous situation to a safe conclusion.
