On October 26, 2025, a Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputy located a vehicle parked in a vacant lot at Highway 81 and Corinth Road. The driver was found passed out behind the wheel.
Deputies made contact with the driver, who was identified as Patrick Edenfield of DeFuniak Springs. In plain view, deputies observed a marijuana cigarette inside the vehicle. A records check revealed that Edenfield’s driver’s license was suspended, and he appeared to be under the influence.
As deputies attempted to place Edenfield under arrest, he became combative and struck one of the deputies. Edenfield was eventually secured and transported to the Holmes County Jail.
He was charged with:
Driving While License Suspended
Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer
Resisting Arrest with Violence
Possession of Marijuana
