A traffic stop conducted by the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office on February 18, 2025, resulted in the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of a significant quantity of methamphetamine.
Deputies initiated a stop on a black Dodge Charger traveling on Highway 2. The driver, John Cobia, admitted to pulling into a private residence in an attempt to evade law enforcement. Further investigation revealed that Cobia had an active warrant out of Holmes County.
The passengers in the vehicle, Angela Trim and Wilton Archer, were also found to have legal issues. A records check indicated that Trim had an outstanding warrant out of Jackson County, while Archer was on state probation.
A probable cause search of the vehicle uncovered a meth pipe, marijuana, and approximately 76 grams of methamphetamine. When questioned, all three occupants denied ownership of the drugs, each attempting to shift the blame onto one another.
As a result, all three were taken into custody and charged as follows:
• John Cobia – Trafficking in methamphetamine (over 28 grams), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, outstanding warrant, and loitering and prowling.
• Angela Trim – Trafficking in methamphetamine (over 28 grams), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, outstanding warrant, and loitering and prowling.
• Wilton Archer – Trafficking in methamphetamine (over 28 grams), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of state probation, and loitering and prowling.
