On October 24, 2025, a Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a traffic stop on a black Kia traveling on Highway 173.
During the stop, K9 Highway was deployed and alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics. A search of passenger William Armstrong was conducted, and deputies located a package containing methamphetamine concealed in his sock.
Once at the jail, deputies asked Armstrong if he had any additional contraband concealed on his person, to which he stated no. During a strip search, deputies discovered another baggie of methamphetamine hidden on his person.
Armstrong was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and introduction of contraband into a correctional facility.
