A traffic stop in Esto led to the arrest of an Alabama man after Holmes County Sheriff’s Office K9 Timex detected illegal narcotics inside his vehicle.
On February 19, 2025, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 79 in Esto on a vehicle driven by Jesse Hughes of Alabama.
While deputies were verifying Hughes’ license, K9 Timex performed a free-air sniff around the vehicle and alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine, meth pipes, a set of scales, marijuana, Xanax, and other drug paraphernalia.
Hughes was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance
