On April 20, 2025, a Holmes County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 90 involving a vehicle driven by Bristina Obryan.
A routine computer check revealed Obryan had active warrants out of Jackson County.
During the stop, a passenger—identified as Zola Slater—was asked to exit the vehicle. While doing so, she was observed attempting to conceal an item between the seat and the center console.
K9 Paycheck was deployed and performed a free-air sniff around the vehicle, alerting to the presence of narcotics.
A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed over four grams of methamphetamine in the area where Slater had been seen trying to hide an object.
Both Obryan and Slater were taken into custody. Obryan was arrested on the outstanding warrants, and Slater was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
