This week, we celebrate the people, places, businesses, and experiences that make Jackson County, Florida a destination worth exploring, along with the team working behind the scenes to help share it with the world.
From our springs, rivers, trails, and caves, to hometown restaurants, local shops, festivals, farms, historic sites, sporting events, and welcoming communities, tourism in Jackson County is powered by people who take pride in where they live.
A special thank you goes to the team at the Jackson County Tourist Development Council, Kelsi Jackson, Executive Director, and Chastity Sheffield, Program Manager, for the countless hours they dedicate to promoting our county, supporting local businesses and venues, advocating for tourism opportunities, and helping events succeed across every corner of Jackson County. Their work often happens behind the scenes, including nights and weekends, but the impact is seen throughout our community.
Their efforts continue to strengthen tourism through projects and initiatives like the Tourism Ambassador Program, which helps community members and businesses better welcome visitors and represent Jackson County with pride. The TDC has also expanded marketing campaigns, supported local events and businesses, promoted agritourism and outdoor recreation, and helped grow venues like the Endeavor Convention Center and visitor centers throughout the county.
Tourism is more than attracting visitors. It’s about sharing the story of our community, supporting local economies, and reminding all of us what makes Jackson County special.
Thank you to everyone who helps showcase our county, from business owners and event organizers to residents who simply share their favorite places and hometown pride.
