Jackson County, Florida Sheriff’s Office Arrest Joseph Allen McDowell on February 21, 2025 for Felony Warrant of Aggravated Battery

Posted on February 21, 2025

On Friday, February 21, 2025, around 9:15 a.m., Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies saw Joseph Allen McDowell driving east of Marianna. McDowell was known to have an active felony warrant for Failure to Appear on the original case of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on McDowell and attempted to arrest him, but he fled. A pursuit was initiated from Marianna to Grand Ridge. Due to McDowell’s reckless driving, and for the safety of the public, deputies forced McDowell off the roadway and ended the pursuit.

McDowell was arrested for his active warrant and is additionally being charged with Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding Law Enforcement.

Sheriff Edenfield would like to thank the Florida Highway Patrol and Sneads Police Department for their assistance in taking McDowell into custody.
