On Saturday, April 5, 2025, around 9:45 p.m., Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were patrolling the area of Highway 71 and Commercial Park drive in Marianna when they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling approximately 20 miles over the speed limit. When they made contact with the driver, he refused to identify himself after deputies asked for identification multiple times. Deputies then detained him.
While conducting an inventory of the vehicle, deputies located a glass smoking pipe with methamphetamine residue, a digital scale, a grinder, and approximately 5.5 grams of methamphetamine. A live turtle was also located inside a toolbox with no food or water. The driver was later identified by a Florida ID card as Adam Thomas Billiot.
Deputies discovered Billiot did not possess a valid driver’s license and had one prior conviction for Driving While License Suspended.
Deputies arrested Billiot and charged him with Resisting an Officer Without Violence, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Cruelty to Animals, and Driving While License Suspended.
