On November 28, 2024, a local business reported a burglary of their warehouse, where approximately $52,000 worth of merchandise was stolen. The case was turned over to Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Investigators, and they quickly identified the suspect vehicle and tag number, which was registered to Anthen Jones. Investigators continued working the case to collect enough probable cause to make an arrest.
On March 8, 2025, the JCSO received a call that the warehouse had been broken into again. This time, the suspect stole approximately $62,400 worth of merchandise.
Throughout the investigation, Investigators determined that Jones would be heading back to North Alabama with the stolen goods. They contacted the Alabama Highway Patrol and put out a BOLO (be on the lookout) for Jones’ vehicle. Troopers with the Alabama Highway Patrol located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. When they made contact with the driver, they discovered it was Anthen Jones, and they saw the stolen property in the vehicle.
Jones was arrested and taken to the Elmore County Jail. On Sunday, March 9, 2025, JCSO Investigators went to Elmore County to speak with Jones, and he admitted to both burglaries.
Jones will be transported back to Jackson County and is being charged with two counts of Burglary of an Unoccupied Structure, two counts of Grand Theft Over $20,000 Under $100,000, and two counts of Dealing in Stolen Property.
Sheriff Edenfield would like to thank the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, the Alabama Highway Patrol, and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency for their assistance in this case.
