On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, around 12:30 p.m., Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a local motel in reference to a stolen vehicle. The owner of the stolen vehicle stated that she had left the vehicle in the parking lot for an extended period of time and when she returned, she found the vehicle to be missing.
Deputies obtained security footage from the motel and saw a man jump start the vehicle and leave several days prior to the report being made. The suspect was identified as Antoine Clayton. Deputies determined Clayton to be a resident of Sneads and reached out to the Sneads Police Department for assistance in locating Clayton.
A Sneads Police Sergeant was able to locate the vehicle and Clayton in Sneads a short time later. When deputies arrived on scene and searched the vehicle, they found numerous pieces of evidence showing that this was the stolen vehicle.
Clayton was arrested and is being charged with Grand Theft.
Sheriff Edenfield would like to thank the Sneads Police Department for their assistance in this case.
