A traffic stop conducted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest of two individuals after deputies located illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia inside a vehicle.
While on patrol in the area of Penn Avenue, a deputy observed a white Ford pickup truck displaying an expired license plate and initiated a traffic stop. During the stop, a K9 assisted with the investigation. Deputies then conducted a search of the vehicle and located methamphetamine, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia in multiple areas. The substances were field tested and yielded positive results.
Narcotics found in a purse were claimed by Ashleigh McDonald. Additional narcotics and paraphernalia were located in a handbag belonging to Herman McGriff, who also had an active warrant.
As a result of the investigation:
Herman McGriff was charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Ashleigh McDonald was charged with:
• Possession of Methamphetamine
• Possession of Cocaine
Both individuals were taken into custody.
