Jackson County, Florida Sheriff’s Office recovers stolen vehicle, suspect in custody.
On July 27, 2025, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies learned that the victim’s vehicle and a 4-wheeler were missing. Additionally, an unfamiliar vehicle was located in the victim’s yard. A records check confirmed that the abandoned vehicle had been reported stolen from the Piggly Wiggly in Graceville.
The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division. Through investigative tools and efforts, investigators identified a suspect who resided in Alabama. The Geneva County Sheriff’s Office in Alabama was contacted for assistance. Shortly after, Geneva County deputies received a tip from the public indicating the suspect was at his residence with the stolen vehicle.
Jackson County investigators traveled to Geneva County to coordinate with local authorities. While the Jackson County Aviation Unit was en route, investigators encountered the suspect on foot. During questioning, the suspect led law enforcement to the stolen vehicle and assisted with the recovery of several missing items.
The suspect, David Remirez, is being charged with Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Grand Theft.
