On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a man inside a local business with what was believed to be a shotgun.
The complainant stated that they saw a man acting aggressively towards people in the parking lot with an elongated object wrapped in a sweatshirt on his back. The suspect then entered the business.
When deputies arrived on scene, they located the suspect, Joshuah Voyles, and detained him. No weapons were located on Voyles’ person, but four swords wrapped in a gray sweatshirt were located with his belongings at another location in the store. Voyles admitted that he owned the swords.
It was then discovered that Voyles has seven prior felony convictions in Florida.
Voyles was arrested and is being charged with Felon in Possession of a Concealed Weapon.
