On Sunday, March 23, around 12:30 a.m., Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies were patrolling the area of Pooser Road and Wynn Road in Marianna, when they saw a vehicle run a stop sign.
When deputies attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle, with lights and sirens activated, the vehicle refused to stop and continued driving to an apartment complex. When the vehicle reached the apartment complex, the suspect, later identified as Jantz Johnson, fled on foot toward an apartment.
Deputies followed Johnson to the apartment and found a woman standing outside the door. The woman consented to a search of the apartment, and Johnson was located inside. It was discovered that Johnson did not possess a valid driver’s license and was listed as a Habitual Traffic Violator. Johnson did confirm he was the suspect driving the vehicle.
Johnson was arrested and is being charged with Fleeing from a Marked Vehicle While Lights and Sirens Activated and Driving While License Permanently Revoked.
