On Friday, November 21, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., deputies with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling just south of Malone. During the stop, deputies developed probable cause to search the vehicle.
The search led to the discovery of approximately 20.06 grams of methamphetamine, a bag containing nine suspected ecstasy pills, and multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia located within the front seat area.
During the investigation, the front passenger, Jeremy Sherrod Kirksey, admitted ownership of the narcotics. Kirksey was taken into custody and transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility. He is charged with:
• Trafficking in Methamphetamine
• Possession of a Controlled Substance (Ecstasy)
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
