On December 22, 2025, at approximately 11:24 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling northbound on Highway 231 after noticing the trailer’s lights were not functioning.
The driver, Tony Thacker, was found to have an active warrant in Leon County for Battery.
During a probable cause search of the vehicle, deputies discovered approximately 14 grams of a substance that field-tested positive for Fentanyl and Methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia and a concealed firearm.
Thacker was arrested and faces the following charges:
• Trafficking in Fentanyl (over 4 grams)
• Possession of a Concealed Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
• Possession of Methamphetamine
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Thacker remains in custody at the Jackson County Correctional Facility. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reminds the public that drug and firearm violations are taken very seriously and encourages anyone with information on similar activity to contact law enforcement.
