James Kenneth (Kenny) Jackson, 88 of Cottondale, Florida, passed from this life on June 28, 2025 at Jackson Hospital.
Kenny was born on August 14, 1936 to Thomas and Ada Jackson. Kenny was in the United States Army from January 1954 to July 1954 and then joined the United States Air Force. He worked for Batesville Casket Company in Atlanta for many years. Most of all, Kenny loved his family and will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Thomas and Ada Jackson; sisters: Lela Mae Bowman, Jean Tremblay, Laville Fox; brothers: Thomas Jackson Jr. and Wallace Jackson.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 26 years: Dorothy Barnes Jackson of Cottondale, Florida; her sons: Bobby Barnes and wife, Jelania of Cottondale, Florida, Mike Barnes and wife Carole of Marianna, Florida; grandchildren: Chris Barnes and wife, Kaitlyn of Graceville, Florida; Tiffany Duncan and husband, Justin of Cottondale, Florida and Jeremy Barnes and wife, Jennifer of DeFuniak, Florida; great grandchildren: Dawson and Parker Barnes, Gavin Duncan, Colton and Emma Barnes: sisters: Lucille Locke, Sandra Rowe, Donna Tyus; brother: Tommy Ray Jackson.
A receiving of friends will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Cottondale Assembly of God from 5-7 PM. Obert Funeral Home and Whispering Pines Crematory of Chipley, Florida in charge of arrangements.
