Jimmy Earl Cook, 81, of Chipley, Florida, went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2026.
Jimmy was born April 15, 1944, in Vernon, Florida, to John Thomas Cook and Eliza Pettis Cook. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County and a member of Christian Haven Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Eliza Cook; son: Ronald Chris Cook, grandson: Cody Joshua Cook, and 7 siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jewell Cook of Wausau, FL; Son: Craig (Lynn) Cook of Wausau, FL; sisters: Martha Williams of Louisiana and Lunell Hefner (Dave) of Freeport, FL; grandchildren: Rebecca Cook, Ashley McCall (Nick), Keith Cook (Kasey), John Michael Cook (Nikki), Madison Cook and two step- grandchildren: Gabriel Dizon, Juliana Dizon, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held 11 AM Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Christian Haven Church, Wausau, Fl, with Pastor Adam Peterson and Steve Taylor officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.
