Lee Sullivan Williams, 78, of Dothan, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 14, 1947. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Eunice Williams and step-mother, Dura Williams, his brothers, Doyle Williams, Ray Williams, and sister, Martha Jane Williams. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Anne Johnson Williams, son Justin Lee Williams (Natalie), and daughter Rachel Anne Williams Lawson, all of Dothan, Alabama.
Mr. Williams was a faithful member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and the Church Orchestra. Lee graduated from Holmes County High School and Troy University. He joined the U. S. Navy and was stationed in California, Mississippi, Hawaii, and Idaho and trained in nuclear submarines. After his discharge from the Navy, he was employed with Farley Nuclear Plant (the Southern Company) for 40 years and as training director for 30 years.
Lee was a dedicated Christian who taught Sunday School, participated in the church orchestra, and taught many study groups throughout the years. His favorite hobbies were playing golf and supporting Alabama Crimson Tide football. Lee was a man of high integrity who was loved and respected by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Dothan, Alabama, at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 25. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 A.M., at the church with Reverend Ray Jones officiating. Private graveside services for the family will follow at Bonifay Cemetery, directed by Sims Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Tom Blindauer, Joel Deavers, David Hall, John Horn, Forest Lero, Randy Wiggins. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Buddy Pittman Sunday School Class.
