Loette Taylor Hayes, 78 of Chipley, Florida went home to be with the Lord on October 21, 2025.
Loette was born on February 19, 1947, in Graceville, Florida, to John Taylor and Adell Colvin. She lived in the Florida Panhandle her whole life and worked as a secretary at West Point until she retired. More than anything, Loette loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren, who meant the world to her. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Adell Taylor; husband: James Danny Hayes; 5 siblings.
She is survived by her son: Derek Hayes and wife Terisa of Chipley, Florida; daughter: Tara Horton and husband Mike of Chipley, Florida; sister: Kathrine Miles of Dothan, Alabama; grandchildren: Jamey Hayes, Allison Trammell and husband Christopher; Chelsea Bush and husband Lance; Nathan Adkison and wife Josie; Marybeth Adkison; Harrison Adkison. great grandchildren: J.D Hayes, Gatlin Hayes, Nolan Trammell, Ella Mae Bush, J.B Bush, Adeline Adkison
Service will be held 4 PM Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Obert Funeral Home Chapel in Chipley, Florida with Pastor Shane Obert officiating. Obert Funeral Home and Whispering Pines Crematory of Chipley, Florida directing.
The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at Obert Funeral Home Chapel. (731 Kirkland Road)
