The Marianna Police Department has arrested a Hernando City man on a felony charge following a traffic stop that led to the discovery of illegal drugs and a suspended license.
On Friday, March 14, 2025, at approximately 1:00 AM, officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Honda passenger vehicle traveling south on Penn Avenue due to an inoperable headlight. The driver was identified as Angel Solivan, 50, of Hernando, Florida. Solivan was determined to have several prior suspensions for DUI and unpaid traffic citations.
During the stop, officers observed in plain view, several small bags containing a white powdery substance within the vehicle and conducted a probable cause search. This search yielded:
•Three clear plastic bags which contained a white powdery substance
Upon further investigation at the Marianna Police Department, officers utilized the Thermo Scientific TruNarc Analyzer, which confirmed the presence of Cocaine in the recovered substances.
Angel Solivan was taken into custody and is facing the following charges:
•Possession of Cocaine
•Driving While License Suspended or Revoked with Knowledge
Solivan was transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
