Mary Delora Lykins, 82 of Wausau, Florida Passes on November 3, 2025

Born May 11, 1938 in Blue Lick, Kentucky to Arthur Barrett and Bertha (Powell) Barrett. She was the youngest of 12 siblings: 6 boys and 6 girls.

She was raised in Cold Springs, Indiana and graduated from Moores Hill High School in May 1956 in Moores Hill, Indiana. Right after graduation, on September 19, 1956, she married the love of her life, Wiley Lykins, who while on leave from the Air Force, came back to Indiana from his Air Station in Tucson, Arizona to get his bride.

Their first son, Alan LeRoy Lykins, was born on July 7, 1960 and their second son, Lloyd Harrison Lykins, was born on January 14,1967. Sadly, Alan was lost in a tragic accident on May 20, 1967.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings, her husband of 63 years Wiley, and her son Alan.

She leaves behind her son Lloyd (Lorie) of Chipley, grandson LeAlan (Destiny) of Chipley. Numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Marie Barrett, who was married to her first sibling to pass away and the one her son Lloyd is named after.

Her husband, Wiley, and son, Alan, are laid next to each other at rest in Aurora, Indiana at Riverview Cemetery. Mary will be laid to rest at Wausau Cemetery to remain close to her son Lloyd.

Graveside service will be held 1 PM Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Wausau Memorial Gardens with Bro. Dallas Pettis and Bro. Brandon Griffin officiating. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.
