Muscogee Nation to Dedicate Monument Honoring Native American Village of Holms Town on May 22, 2025

The Muscogee (Creek) Nation is proud to dedicate a monument honoring the historic Native American village of Holms Town at the Washington County Government Annex on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

Schedule of Events:

10:30 AM – Meet & Greet

Join the Tribal Chief and Council for a warm welcome, light refreshments, and community fellowship.

Location: Washington County Board of County Commissioners Board Room

Hosted by the Washington County Historical Society and the Vernon Historical Society

11:30 AM – Dedication Ceremony & Flag Raising

A public ceremony to honor Holms Town and its legacy, featuring tribal leaders, special guests, and a flag raising to commemorate the occasion.

Come celebrate and learn about Holms Town’s deep history and its leader, Chief Holms. This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome.
