Owen was born on July 24, 1953 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Owen J. Flanagan Jr. and Shirley Brown. A lifelong resident of the Florida Panhandle since 2001 coming from Atlanta, Georgia and a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. He was a man of few words but a big heart. Most of all, he loved his family more than anything else and will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Owen and Shirley Flanagan.
He is survived by his son: Owen Flanagan IV of Chipley, FL; daughters: Sarah Flanagan of Alabama, Melissa Barbee (Joe) of Atlanta, GA; brothers: Rick Flanagan of Atlanta, GA, Terry Flanagan of Florida, Tim Flanagan of Virginia, Thomas Flanagan of Virginia; sister: Susan Flanagan of Virginia; grandchildren: Finn, Lyndsey, Gavin, Tommy, Jack; great grandchild: Luke, Marceline.
Service will be held 10 AM Monday, November 3, 2025, at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Chipley, Florida with Father Paul Moody officiating. Obert Funeral Home and Whispering Pines Cemetery of Chipley, Florida in charge of arrangements.
