The Red Heifer Steakhouse on Main Street in downtown Chipley, Florida, enjoyed a ‘soft opening’ on Wednesday and Thursday, June 4 and 5, 2025, enjoying an overflow crowd.
The Red Heifer admonished the public that they are NOT a fast food restaurant, but rather designed to offer a quality dining experience, featuring first-rate beef, chicken and fish, appetizers and desserts.
Upholding the high standards of longtime restauranteur owners Emily and Javier Valdovinos was paramount, and to that end, all entrees and many other menu items are cooked to order.
Well, as they say, ‘be careful what you wish for’, and, following the soft opening, The Red Heifer opened their doors to the public on Friday, June 6, 2025, and ran out of food each evening until finally, following a huge Saturday night, they announced that they would not open on Sunday, June 7, due to just that- they simply ran out of food.
Emily and Javier apologize to the community, but part of opening a new business, let alone a restaurant of this caliber, is figuring out the demand the ability to meet that demand.
With open hours of Wednesday through Sunday, 4PM until 10PM, The Red Heifer is quickly becoming the place to see and be seen- designed to offer a congenial atmosphere.
We suggest that you relax, enjoy conversation with your friends, along with your favorite cold beverage, including our Signature Specialty Cocktails, beer and wine, and allow us to present a laid-back, unique dining experience.
