Riley Joe Qualls, 86 of Chipley, Florida Passes on April 13, 2026 at Gulf Coast Hospital in Panama City

Riley Joe Qualls, 86 of Chipley, Florida went home to be with the Lord on April 13, 2026 at Gulf Coast Hospital in Panama City, Florida.

Riley was born on September 20, 1939, in Etowah County, Alabama to Marvin and Josephine Qualls. He was a resident of Washington County for 33 years and proudly served in the United States Army. Riley had a deep love for the outdoors and found great joy in hunting, fishing, and gardening. Known as a true jack of all trades, he had a remarkable ability to fix anything he set his hands to. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by parents: Marvin and Josephine Qualls.

He is survived by his son: Marvin Joseph Qualls; nephew: Mike Qualls (Toni) of Vernon, FL; niece: Janice Qualls- Gonzalez (Butch) of Zephyrhills, FL. 

A special thank you to his close friends and neighbors Jorge Fournier, Milagritos Prieto, Gary and Anne Rogers. Your kindness meant the world to Joe and we are grateful. 

Service will be held 11 AM Friday, April 17, 2026 at Obert Funeral Home Chapel in Chipley, Florida (731 Kirkland Road). Interment will follow in Salem Methodist Church Cemetery in Graceville, Florida. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing. 

The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at Obert Funeral Home Chapel.
