Suzzanne “Slim” Kramer continued the next chapter of her unforgettable journey on January 28, 2025. Suzzanne was born December 3, 1967 in Atlanta, Georgia at Crawford Long Hospital.
Suzzanne grew up in the Sandy Springs area of Atlanta, attending Underwood Hills Elementary School and Riverwood High School. She played basketball and volleyball, winning numerous awards and achievements including being named captain of the Girls Varsity Basketball team in 1986. During her senior year she was voted Female Athlete of the Year because of her incredible talents and leadership in sports. Some of her other athletic achievements included playing Girls’ softball for many years in the Sandy Springs Youth Sports Association. Suzzanne was also on the swimming team at Cherokee Town & Country Club under Coach Charlie Gaddis. She attended Valdosta State University where she pledged Alpha Delta Pi and earned a coveted spot on the Blazer Women’s Tennis team.
Her professional tennis career included working for Huntcliff Club, American Medical Tennis Association, Cherokee Town & Country Club; Dunwoody Country Club, Rosemary Beach Racquet Club, Sheraton Bay Point Resort, and most recently Watersound. Suzzanne was a USPTACertified Teaching Professional, United States Tennis Association member and held a Level 1 Sport Science certification.
Suzzanne moved to the Panama City Beach area just weeks before September 11, 2001. She quickly became the life of the “party”, never meeting a stranger and being a friend to the PCB community. Tennis was her passion and part of her DNA, where she taught countless girls, boys, women and men how to play and enjoy the game of tennis. Suzzanne organized Quarterly Tennis Mixers and Socials; Adult Open Tennis Tournaments; Ladies Team Tournament Weekends and Weekend Dynamic Doubles Tournaments. Part of her giving legacy was using tennis to promote charitable events and organizations. Suzzanne sponsored an American Cancer Society Charity Round Robin event and the annual RMK Memorial Tennis Round Robin fundraiser for the American Heart Association.
Suzzanne was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Manning Kramer and Faeverner Beese Kramer.
She is survived by her brother, Richard Kramer (sister-in-law, Regina); brother, William Kramer (sister-in-law, Celia); sister, Karrollanne Cayce (brother-in-law, Charles); along with nephews, Christopher Kramer (wife Meghan), Michael Kramer (wife Sarah), Brett Kramer, Collier Cayce; nieces Courtney Kramer, Caroline Kramer and Kristen Cayce along with grandnephews, Patrick Kramer, Liam Kramer and Charlie Kramer and grandnieces Elizabeth Kramer, Cora Kramer and Rae Marie Kramer.
In lieu of flowers, her family encourages those that wish to honor Suzzanne’s legacy to make contributions to the American Heart Association.
There will be a Celebration of Life “Cheers to Slim” at the Grand Marlin Restaurant in Panama City Beach, Florida on February 15, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 pm CST. A second celebration is being planned for later this year in Atlanta, Georgia.
