Our congregation is saddened by the passing of Sybil Webb, a woman of deep faith, quiet strength, and enduring love for others who first joined First Presbyterian Church of Chipley in 1957. On Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the age of 95, she peacefully went home to be with the Lord.
Sybil was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; her children Sonya Webb, Karla Nelson, and Bill Webb Jr.; her brothers Don Grinstead and Wes Grinstead and his wife Dolores; her sisters Eloyse Evans and her husband Jake and their son Don, Evelyn Williams and her husband Shon and their daughter Linda Gossman, Marjorie Forrester and her husband George, and Shirley Albertson.
She is survived by her son, Wade Webb; her granddaughter Jessica Roberts and her husband Josiah, and their daughters Hannah and Lydia; her grandson Jonathan Nelson and his wife Danna, and their son Caleb; along with a host of beloved nieces and nephews who will continue to cherish her memory.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
