This is the first tropical system in the Caribbean this year.
This is likely going to get stuck under the Atlantic ridge for awhile. It will be difficult to believe any long range track until we get into a more reliable time frame.
This will likely become a very strong hurricane if it can avoid land interaction. If it gets close enough to land then this will be pulled north and east sooner. If it drifts west then this can intensify to a very strong storm before eventually being pulled north and east.
It remains unlikely that this will get into the Gulf or impact the mainland US. I would caution that this is likely still going to be in the Caribbean a week from now. I would definitely recommend to continue to watch this one.
