US Weather Service Advises 4-Day Rain Totals of 2-3 Inches, Drier Weather in Sight

Posted on December 8, 2025

The rainy weather from this past Thursday through Sunday has been beneficial. 4-day rain totals of 2-3 inches were most common. Even higher amounts were mainly focused in the Panhandle and far southeast Alabama.

The 36 consecutive hours of rain (>=Trace) at TLH ending 7pm Sunday goes down as the 2nd longest such stretch on record. The longest stretch at the top of this list was associated with 2012 Tropical Storm Debby, so the stretch from this past weekend had the most consecutive hours of rain on record outside of a tropical system!

After some light rain this morning, the week ahead will feature little or no rain, so it’s safe to put away the webbed feet.
