US Weather Service Advises Stormy Weather Expected to Pass Through Northwest Florida on Sunday, February 15, 2026

Stormy weather is expected to pass through the area today. Here are the highlights.

1) There is a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 5) of severe weather today across much of the area. Not everyone will see severe weather, but isolated to scattered instances of damaging wind gusts and a few tornadoes are the primary threats.

2) The most likely timing for the line of storms today is west of a line from Fort Gaines to Panama City from 5 AM – 9 AM CT, east of there to a Sylvester to Tallahassee line 9 AM – 1 PM ET, and the remainder of the region to the Suwannee Valley 11 AM – 4 PM ET today.

3) Gusty winds up to 40 mph are expected today for the Florida Big Bend and most of southwest Georgia, especially 2-3 hours in advance of the line of thunderstorms.

4) A high risk of rip currents and high surf are expected at the Gulf beaches today. Conditions will be hazardous to mariners and all levels of swimmers.
