Vernon, Florida High School Principal Aaron Day Invites Public to Round Table Meeting

Posted on July 11, 2025

Good evening Students, Staff, Parents, Alumni, and Community Members,

As many of you are aware, our head football coach recently resigned his position at Vernon High School. While we thank him for his dedication and service to our student-athletes and the Vernon community, we now face the important task of finding the right leader to guide our football program into its next chapter. I understand that with any change comes a bit of trepidation and uncertainty. Emotions can arise during these times, and thatโ€™s ok. Itโ€™s actually quite normal. Emotion signifies passion and spirit. It shows unwavering belief in a cause.

Personally, I love this. I love the fact that the community is coming together in spirit to fight for our football program. It is very reassuring to me as the principal to see like-minded individuals who will do whatever it takes to see our program succeed. I applaud you for refusing to give up. We will not give up either. Having our coach resign is, of course, a setback. However, this does NOT mean that we are cancelling our season!!

Like many of you, I also played football my entire high school career. I loved it so much that I even coached football for many years after high school. To me, football is not just a sport. It is so much more. It is a way of life, and it helped mold me into the man I am today. So, when I tell you that football is a vital part of our school and community and should be treated as such, please know that I mean every word. After speaking with our Superintendent, Mr. Register, I can assure you that he is just as passionate.

We know that there are growing concerns and questions being asked right now about the direction and sustainability of our football program. Thus, Mr. Register and I feel that it is extremely important that all stakeholders (students, parents, faculty, coaches, alumni, and community members) have the opportunity to come together to share their perspectives, hear from school officials, and collectively explore the best path moving forward.

Therefore, we would like to cordially invite all stakeholders to join us on Monday, July the 14th at *๐—จ๐—ฝ๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐Ÿฒ:๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿฌ๐—ฃ๐— * for a round table discussion. The meeting will be located in the Vernon High School Auditorium. If you have any questions or concerns before the meeting, please feel free to contact me on my cellphone at 850-363-5215. Hopefully, weโ€™ll see everyone Monday!!

Sincerely, Aaron Day Principal, Vernon High School
