Posted on July 23, 2025

Wallace Haber, 94, of Marianna, Florida died Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Jackson Hospital.

Wallace was born March 9, 1931 in Yonkers, New York to Saul and Elizabeth Friedman Haber. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business & Labor Relations. From a young age and through his life, he enjoyed feeding the birds and appreciated the blooming season for his flowers. He was a world traveler that lived a full life.

Wallace loved to plant fruit trees that may or may not have grown, but he kept trying. He enjoyed listening to Lawrence Welk music and watching his favorite show Wheel of Fortune. He was an amazing father and grandfather. The great-grandkids gave him his favorite name of “Big Grandpa”. An active Marianna resident for more than 35 years, he was always making friends with a smile on his face! He was a great humanitarian and very involved in his community, especially the Chipola Aquatic Center. His friends from the pool were more like family; some he had known for over 25 years.

Wallace was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Lessie Haber.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda Morlan and son, Steve Haber and daughter-in-law Mayda Haber; five grandchildren, Stephanie Bryant and husband, Rob, Tammy Haber, Steven Haber and wife, Colleen, Jennifer Albanese and husband, Pete and Daniel Haber; and eleven great-grandchildren: Taylor, Bradie, Yuliana, Daniel, Sabrina, Hailey, Benjamin, Christian, Logan, Mayda and Katalina.

Memorial service will be 1 PM Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chipola Aquatic Center and the American Cancer Society.
