Posted on December 9, 2025

A Miramar Beach man is facing robbery charges following a violent incident involving a civil process clerk over the weekend.

Terence Wheeler Scott, 60, is charged with robbery, assault, battery, obstruction, and criminal mischief following an investigation Friday at a residence in Miramar Beach.

Deputies responded to 86 Mandevilla Lane Saturday after receiving a report of a physical disturbance that had just occurred. When they got on scene, deputies spoke to the victim, a civil process server, who stated she was at the residence to serve civil paperwork to Wheeler and his spouse.

According to the victim, Scott became verbally aggressive as soon as he answered the door. After taking documents from her hand, Scott told the victim he had a gun and threatened to shoot her. The victim began retreating from the property when Scott reportedly began shoving her while demanding she leave.

During the encounter, Scott attempted to grab the victim’s cellphone, which she had been using to record the interaction. Unable to immediately take the phone, he grabbed the victim’s lanyard containing her identification before obtaining the phone and throwing it to the ground numerous times causing damage to the device. The victim reported Scott continued to shove her, prompting her to defend herself to escape the property.

Deputies attempted to contact Scott at his residence, but he did not respond.

While deputies were still on scene, Scott called Walton County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center and said he would not speak with law enforcement without an attorney present.

He was located and arrested later on that day and was booked into the Walton County Jail. Scott received a $15,000 bond and was released Sunday afternoon.
