Two DeFuniak Springs men are arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop Wednesday night.
At around 7 pm, a Walton County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Deputy stopped a vehicle driving on Highway 90 near Valley View Boulevard after noticing the driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
Once the vehicle was stopped, the K-9 Deputy approached the car and spoke to the driver, identified as Dakota Allen Lee, 23, of DeFuniak Springs. The deputy said Allen seemed extremely nervous during the interaction and was visibly shaking.
K-9 Jocko was deployed and gave a positive alert to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. During a search, small pieces of what appeared to be methamphetamine could be seen on the floorboard in front of the driver’s seat. A field test confirmed the substance to be meth.
While searching Lee, a torn plastic bag of methamphetamine was located inside Lee’s jacket along with a .32 caliber 6-shot revolver. Lee was confirmed as a convicted felon.
The passenger in the vehicle, Timothy Frymire, 25, also of DeFuniak Springs, was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
Lee and Frymire were both charged with possession of methamphetamine. Lee was additionally charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Lee was given a $10,000 bond and Frymire was given a $5,000 bond. Both men are still incarcerated at the time of this release.
