Walton County, Florida Sheriff’s Office Arrests Chester McKinley on February 7, 2025

Posted on February 8, 2025

A traffic stop leads to the arrest of a DeFuniak Spring man for trafficking methamphetamine.

On Wednesday, February 5th, a Walton Cunty, Florida Sheriff’s deputy stopped a truck for an obstructed tag on Woodyard Road in DeFuniak Springs.

The driver, identified as 41-year-old Chester McKinley, told the deputy he did not have a driver’s license and that he was test-driving a friend’s truck after doing some work on it.

McKinley was detained and while searching the vehicle, deputies located a large plastic bag with a white crystal-like substance under the middle seat of the cab. The substance, which weighed 16 grams, field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

McKinley was charged with trafficking methamphetamine and driving without a license. He was issued a $50,000 bond and is still incarcerated at the time of this release.
