Washington County, Florida School Board Meets on Monday, May 12, 2025

The Washington County, Florida School Board met in regular session on Monday, May 12, 2025, with the following:

Coach Olivia Brock recognized VHS student Corissa Peterson. Ms. Peterson placed 7th at the Track & Field State Championship – May 10

VHS Cook Around the World Students. Ms. Laurie Simmon acknowledged four VHS students who participated in “Cook Around The World,” a hands-on culinary experience at Epcot. Although they didn’t place in the top ten this time, the experience was valuable, and they’ve been invited to return.

Acknowledgment of Food Service Workers for Foodservice Hero Day. Director Jiranda White and SFE General Manager Diane McLendon Foodservice workers were recognized for their commitment and dedication serving Washington County School District students in reference to School Lunch Hero Day on May 2, 2025.(Photo attached)

The School Board presented Mayor Tracy Andrews with a proclamation in recognition of her outstanding support for the District Schools. They expressed their sincere appreciation and look forward to continuing their partnership with her and Florida Power & Light.
