Posted on March 10, 2026

On March 09, 2026, a deputy with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office observed a vehicle committing a traffic violation on Highway 79 in Ebro. The deputy pulled behind the vehicle and activated emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop.

The deputy made contact with the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, 35-year-old Autumn Lauren Walker of Alabama. During initial contact with the driver, the deputy observed a clear plastic baggie containing a white crystal substance lying on the seat near the driver’s leg. When questioned about the suspected narcotics, the driver appeared confused and attempted to conceal the baggie.

The deputy gave several commands for the driver to exit the vehicle; however, the driver refused to comply. The driver was then assisted out of the vehicle but remained combative and continued to ignore the deputy’s commands.

During a probable cause search of the vehicle, deputies located methamphetamine.

During a search of the suspect at the Washington County Jail, the plastic baggie that the suspect had attempted to conceal during the traffic stop was discovered, along with additional drug paraphernalia hidden on her person.

Autumn Walker was charged with Felony Resisting an Officer with Violence, Felony Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Tampering with Evidence.

Walker was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail
