Washington County, Florida Sheriff’s Office Arrests David Joseph Daw for Felony Warrants, Methamphetamine and Marijuana

On April 22, 2026, a deputy with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office observed a vehicle committing a traffic violation on Highway 77 near Cane Mill Road. The deputy pulled behind the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop by activating emergency lights.

Upon making contact with the driver and requesting his driver’s license, he advised the deputy he did not have a valid driver’s license due to a suspension and provided the deputy with a false name. The driver was asked to exit the vehicle and placed under arrest for knowingly driving while license is suspended or revoked.

During a probable cause search of the vehicle, deputies discovered marijuana and a white crystal-like substance which tested positive for methamphetamine.

While being transported to the Washington County jail the driver identified himself as David Joseph Daw of Fountain, Fl. Daw was found to have felony warrants out of Alabama.

Daw was arrested and locally charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Marijuana less than 20 grams and driving while license suspended or revoked.
