A chase initiated by Bonifay Police Department this morning ended in the arrest of 21-year-old, Devin Payton Davidson and 28-year-old Chance Layfield of Panama City, FL.
The pursuit ended at the intersection of State Rd 79 and Haskins Rd. near Vernon in Washington County.
Bonifay PD advised Washington County Telecommunication Center at approximately 2:37 am that the vehicle was traveling on 1-10 westbound from Bonifay into Washington County when the driver made an abrupt turn into the median traveling eastbound and shortly exited I-10 onto State Rd. 79 South.
The driver continued traveling at high rates of speed until Bonifay Police Department utilized the PIT maneuver causing the car to crash.
Both subjects continued fleeing on foot. One of the subjects was quickly apprehended by Washington County deputies.
The other subject was also apprehended shortly after NWFRC and Holmes K-9 teams were called to the scene.
Charges are pending as details in the case are still unraveling.
