Sheriff Crews announces the arrest of a DeFuniak Springs, FL man who is now facing drug-related charges after a traffic stop near the Washington/Holmes County line.
At approximately 12:30 a.m. this morning, Washington County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop near River Bridge Rd. and Hwy. 90 in Caryville. Deputies made contact with the driver 59-year-old, Louie Earnest Flowers who was asked for his driver’s license to which he replied, “I don’t have one.”
With illegal items visible in the vehicle the occupants were asked to exit the vehicle.
WCSO deputies along with HCSO conducted a subsequent search of the vehicle which resulted in deputies locating a digital scale and a clear plastic baggie with a crystalized substance that later yielded a positive result for methamphetamine.
Flowers was arrested and transported to the Holmes County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine, driving while license suspended; habitual offender and possession of paraphernalia.
