On April 15, 2026, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a possible sex offense involving a minor.
After an on-scene investigation into the allegations, 56-year old Scott Eli Cowell of Chipley, Florida was taken into custody for Sexual Battery Victim 12yo less than 18 years old, Offender 18 yo or older.
Cowell was transported to the Washington County Jail.
