The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Amethyst Ln., yesterday afternoon, after a woman reported her boyfriend 34-year-old,
Stephen James Crigger had beaten her during what started as a verbal argument.
As deputies arrived at the home, they observe a woman who had several visible signs of a physical altercation.
The victim stated that Crigger had fled the scene as she attempted to call 911.
A department issued K-9 arrived to assist and Crigger was located in a wooded area behind the home a short time later.
Crigger, who also had an active out-of-county warrant for the same charge, was arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail on the charge of felony battery by strangulation.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
