Bay County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Gabriel McCoy, also known as “Goofy,” who is wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on August 28, 2026, at a residence on Hyde Avenue in Bay County.
Deputies responded to the area of Hyde Avenue during the morning hours of August 28 in reference to an armed robbery.
According to the victim, while inside the residence, an unknown male exited a bedroom while armed with a firearm and confronted him. The victim reported that the suspect ordered him to comply while another firearm was subsequently pointed at him. The victim was able to flee the residence through the rear door and immediately contacted law enforcement.
Investigators identified Michael McNeil as a person involved in the incident. A search warrant was subsequently obtained and executed at the Hyde Avenue residence. During the investigation, evidence was recovered that corroborated portions of the victim’s account and assisted investigators in identifying the second suspect as Gabriel McCoy, also known as “Goofy.”
Investigators also obtained surveillance footage from the surrounding area that further assisted in identifying McCoy and establishing his movements following the robbery.
McNeil was taken into custody on August 28, 2026, and was charged with:
• Armed Robbery
• Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
• Violation of Probation
On August 30, 2026, an arrest warrant was issued for Gabriel McCoy for:
• Armed Robbery
• Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
McCoy also has two additional active warrants related to separate cases.
As of September 5, 2026, McCoy had not been located and remains wanted.
The Bay County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who may have information regarding the whereabouts of Gabriel McCoy, also known as “Goofy,” to contact the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.
