Holmes County, Florida Man Arrested After Traffic Stop in Washington County

A Holmes County man is behind bars and facing drug-related charges after a traffic stop in Washington County.

At approximately 5:45 pm, August 19th, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Yates Settlement Rd. and Union Hill Rd. WCSO deputies made contact with the driver who identified himself as 51-year-old Christopher John Lamson. While speaking with Lamson the deputy detected the odor of narcotics emanating from inside the vehicle.

Lamson was asked to exit the vehicle, he was hesitant but complied. As an investigation was being conducted Lamson continually showed a nervous behavior and failed to follow commands.

A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted, and deputies located a glass smoking device and cigarette pack containing a crystal-like substance that later field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Lamson was arrested and transported to Washington County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
